Malaysian Pride

Malaysian badminton player Lee Chong Wei secured a fourth ever Olympic medal for this country. 51 years (this coming Aug 31), 4 medals. Do the maths and you’ll see it’s definitely a big deal. If, tomorrow night Lee wins against China, he’ll get the gold.
Was watching the news yesterday when Lee Chong Wei’s successful bid to get into the finals were marred by news of more stupid UiTM protests around the country. I’m generous calling them stupid. Stupid is usually not the kind of words you associate with racists.
UiTM Protest
Protest what? Just because the Selangor MB Abdul Khalid said open door to 10% non-bumis? Now the UiTM students are demanding an apology. What irony. Apologise for not being a racist like them? What really irked me is now this bunch of little racists are threatening an even bigger protest in Shah Alam if Abdul Khalid don’t give them an apology. They don’t need Abdul Khalid’s apology. What these people need is a good spanking by the FRU and a healthy dose of water canon. To top it off, each serve with dismissal paper.
This is the thing. Here we have a Malaysian who went to the Olympics and brought home a little pride and glory to this country. A sense of achievement and national pride what it is to be a Malaysian. On the other hand, you see these UiTM fanatics (supposedly ‘elites’) single (matter of speech lar.. it’s mob)handedly dissecting every little pride what it is to be a Malaysian.
Poof. Bang. There goes the mythological ‘unity’ bubble we see in Truly Asia ad.
Damn mad. Summore nearing our National Day.
