MALAYSIA TO PLAY AN ACTIVE ROLE AT ILC
Bernama – Sunday, June 8

KUALA LUMPUR, June 7 (Bernama) — Malaysia will give its views on increasing cooperation at the international level on labour matters at the 97th session of the International Labour Conference (ILC) that will be held in Geneva from June 9-12.

According to a Ministry of Human Resources statement here today, its minister Datuk Dr. S. Subramaniam would be heading the Malaysian delegation.

The conference this time is expected to address three main issues — rural poverty, using training as strategy to improve productivity and strengthening the capacity of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to help member countries attain targets related to labour issues.

Others in the delegation include senior ministry officials and representatives from the Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF), Malaysian Trades Union Congress, and Cuepacs.
