The paper will discuss the methodology and practice of an Internet reception study in Malaysia. While its particular focus is on participant response to the online edition of the Malaysian Star newspaper (see <www.thestar.com.my>), of equal importance in our investigation is development of the cognitive theory derived from phenomenological hermeneutics informing the study.
